Summary:

As an oncology subject matter expert (SME), the Manager leverages scientific and clinical experience to support one or more programs and will serve as a program or product lead. The Manager will be responsible for responding to unsolicited medical information requests and creating, updating, and reviewing response documents. The manager will also be an integral member of the promotional review team. Furthermore, this position will play a key role for compendia surveillance and submissions, as well as the development or updates of dossiers. The Manager will also work collaboratively and represent Medical Information in alliance partnerships and cross functional collaborations to provide medical support. The Manager serves as a Medical Information leader to our contact center agency partner and may be expected to provide mentorship to Medical Affairs Fellows, Interns, or junior team members. The Manager is expected to leverage experience to contribute to team priorities and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as an oncology SME for North America to provide medical support for one or more Seagen products or programs.
  • Oversee creation and maintenance of global and US medical information content to support marketed and pipeline products, including creation, update, and review of standard response documents.
  • Utilize appropriate resources to research and respond to unsolicited medical information inquiries in a fair, balanced and scientific manner, verbally and in written form.
  • Conduct data reviews and contribute medical knowledge as oncology SME to support promotional review committee activities including regular attendance of meetings.
  • Lead compendia submissions to ensure appropriate placement of Seagen products.
  • Lead dossier updates
  • Represent the Medical Information team on cross-functional collaborations, including product-specific committees, working groups, and sub teams.
  • Provide quality assurance and constructive feedback to our call center to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of Medical Information responses.
  • Critically analyze data from our Medical Information inquiry database to communicate metrics and insights to key stakeholders.
  • Staff and support the medical affairs booth at scientific meetings and congresses and assist in creating pre-and post-meeting data summaries.
  • Assist team members with onboarding, continual training, and education, and providing mentorship and advisement to the other members of the Medical Information department.
  • Provide support and leadership for team projects and initiatives to achieve department priorities.
  • Provide training support, as needed, to the contact center, medical science liaisons and commercial teams.
  • Conduct literature reviews and provide written summaries of the literature to the medical affairs and clinical teams.
  • Perform other relevant tasks as requested.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years relevant industry/agency, biotechnology or pharmaceutical experience is preferred, particularly in the field of hematology/oncology
  • Previous medical information experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with the concepts of compliant promotion and scientific exchange
  • Proficiency with medical information systems, document management systems & processes
  • A demonstrated ability to work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications

Education

  • A clinical or advanced doctoral degree (MD, PhD or PharmD) is required
