Manager Corporate Finance

Description

Summary

The Manager, Corporate Finance position will be responsible for supporting Corporate G&A groups and Research from a financial and reporting perspective. This position will also support budgeting and other planning activities performed by the Corporate Finance group and perform month end closing activities.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on reporting and financial planning & analysis for G&A organization
  • Support the monthly and quarterly reporting cycles and annual budget/financial planning activities
  • Assist in financial analysis of financial and operational results versus plan delivering financial insights and decision support to G&A leadership teams
  • Prepare accurate monthly, annual, and ad hoc financial reports with associated variance analysis
  • Perform month end close activities related to necessary project accruals
  • Ensuring the highest standards of financial control and compliance in-line with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act

Business partner leadership:

  • Engage with G&A functions, Research and Corporate Finance to provide decision support through strategic and tactical financial analyses
  • Build partnership with G&A functional teams to drive financial planning and reporting for G&A organizations
  • Meet regularly with the Corporate G&A and Research functions to understand their current and planned activities to support month end and forecast cycles
  • Collaborate with peers in Accounting and Finance to perform ad-hoc analysis to explain variances versus budget and/or forecasts and prior periods

Drive analysis for investment decision support:

  • Support the review of investment business cases related to capex expenditures
  • Collaborate with key functional teams (Facilities, Technical Operations, IT and Research) to review SeaGen’s Capex planning and management process

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years of Finance/Accounting or comparable experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in a business partner / client facing role
  • Excellent ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology organization
  • The ability to present data and effectively communicate complex information to non-Finance people; written and oral
  • The ability to influence with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter who deals well and thrives in ambiguity
  • Strategic thinker who must be detail-oriented and have analytical problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills to support financial analysis and executive presentations
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities while meeting tight deadlines

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA is preferred
