CEO Reading List: Edward Fritzky
Edward V. Fritzky is the former Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of
Immunex Corporation. Mr. Fritzky served as President of Lederle
Laboratories, a division of American Cyanamid, from 1992 to 1994 and as Vice President of
Lederle Laboratories from 1989 to 1992. While at Lederle he launched six products and
established Lederle Oncology as an independent unit. Prior to joining Lederle
Laboratories, Mr. Fritzky was an executive of Searle Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a subsidiary
of the Monsanto Company. During his tenure at Searle, Mr. Fritzky was Vice President,
Marketing, and later President and General Manager of Searle Canada, Inc. and Lorex
Pharmaceutical, a joint venture company. He began his career with Searle in 1973. He is
married and has two children and resides in Bellevue, Washington.
Education: B.A., Duquesne University, and a graduate of the Advanced
Executive Program, J.L. Kellog Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.
